# Execution History & Analytics

**aj** provides a powerful suite of tools to give you deep insight into how your agents are performing. Every time you run a workflow, the app records a detailed, permanent "Execution Trace," allowing you to debug, optimize, and understand your agents like never before.

### The Trace Viewer: See Your Agent's "Thought Process"

Accessible from an agent's chat or editor screen, the trace viewer provides a step-by-step history of every execution run. For each run, you can see:

* **A Hierarchical View:** Understand the flow of execution.
* **Detailed I/O:** Inspect the exact inputs each node received and the outputs it produced.
* **Performance Timeline:** A visual "waterfall" chart shows how long each step took, helping you pinpoint bottlenecks in your workflow.

### The Analytics Dashboard: Monitor Performance and Cost

The Execution History rolls up into a powerful, application-wide analytics dashboard.

* **Interactive Charts:** View historical trends for key metrics like execution duration, network usage, LLM token counts, and even the calculated monetary cost of your API calls.
* **"Top Consumers" List:** Instantly see which execution runs are the biggest contributors to a selected metric.
* **Drill-Down Analysis:** From the global dashboard, you can click on any execution run to jump directly to its detailed trace view.
